Fuerteventura Remains Affordable

The Canary Islands ranked 8th in the most popular regions considered by potential Spanish property buyers visiting Kyero.com ahead of the Balearic Islands in 11th place.

With average property prices signficantly lower on the Canaries compared to the Balearic Islands, €207,000 and €451,000, respectively in Q4 2007, the volcanic islands are certainly proving attractive.

Fuerteventura received 25.6% of visitor enquiries. Handling just over 4.6 million passengers in 2007,and with low-cost airlines flying direct from most UK regional airports, owning a second property here remains affordable.

Micro-credits Available for Entrepreneurs

A collaboration agreement between the Ayuntamiento de Puerto del Rosario and La Caja de Canarias was signed recently to help entrepreneurs get micro-credits with excellent conditions in view of the current market situation.

This initiative aims to assist young business people and other self-employed professionals gain access to credit from La Caja de Canarias through its Social Fund. Up to a maximum of 20,000 Euros can be availed to establish a new business or improve an existing one.
