The Carnival season is now well underway. Antigua had their Carnival Parade yesterday, 13th of February. For Caleta de Fuste and Corralejo, take note of these dates:

19th February: Caleta de Fuste Carnival Parade
Theme: The World of Music

26th March: Corralejo Carnival Parade
Theme: Ancient Civilisations

Mark Your Calendars for the 2011 Fuerteventura Wave Classic!

SurferToday.com -- The 2011 Fuerteventura Wave Classic will kick off on the 8th February at the North Shore of Fuerteventura. There will be 22 participants from five different countries, plus five local riders.

New Easyjet Flights and Ryanair Routes to Fuerteventura

Easyjet has added a new Bristol-Fuerteventura route last month, which runs twice a week on Wednesday and Saturday. This takes the number of routes to Fuerteventura to four - the others being Madrid, Liverpool and London Stansted.

Ryanair also announced two new routes to Shannon every Saturday and Birmingham on Monday and Friday.

Travesías a nado (Playa Blanca-Corralejo and Lobos-Corralejo Swim)

With more than 150 amateur swimmers joining in previous events, the Travesía La Bocaina between Playa Blanca in Lanzarote and Corralejo in Fuerteventura this year will be on Saturday, 16th October - a 15km stretch.

The following day, 17th October, will be for the Travesía Isla de Lobos and Corralejo with a total distance of 3.5km.
